Titled ‘Upgrades – It’s nothing new!’ Rob’s presentation will provide advice and guidance for newspaper printers on setting objectives and planning the implementation of a press upgrade project.
Despite the recently higher profile of upgrades, the concept of upgrading existing production facilities is nothing new; in fact, press upgrade projects have been carried out routinely since the late 1980s. Whilst there are some similarities, choosing to upgrade a press requires a fundamentally different approach than buying new equipment.
With expertise extending to upgrade projects from reelstands and drives right through to complete control systems, Rob will explain the considerations which should be given for an upgrade project.
Rob is a graduate in Electrical and Electronic Engineering and has been working at Harland Simon since 1987. He has held a range of commercial, project management and sales roles, mainly focussing on the upgrade and retrofit sides of the business. This led to spending 5 years at Harland Simon’s Chicago office to help establish their entry into the North American market where this sector would become so important before returning to the UK and taking up his current position as Sales Director in 2007.
More information will be available on the ASEAN website nearer the time of the event.
